Annadana (Gift of food)
Nourishing Lives, One Meal at a Time
Annadana (Gift of food) is considered the most charitable activity, as per Brahma Purana (Ch.09). Lord Krishna, in BG 3.14 explains - annād bhavanti bhūtāni, parjanyād anna-sambhavaḥ, yajñād bhavati parjanyo, yajñaḥ karma-samudbhavaḥ. “All living bodies subsist on food grains, which are produced from rains. Rains are produced by performance of yajña [sacrifice], and yajña is born of prescribed duties”.
As human beings, we have a duty/dharma/responsibility to contribute to the well-being of others. In the age of Kaliyuga, the Yuga Dharma is sankirtana yagna - which includes distributing sanctified food to people.
As per the Vedic scriptures, food (Anna) should first be offered to Lord Krishna before sharing it with others for physical and spiritual nourishment. The Bhagavad Gita 3.13 states yajña-śiṣṭāśinaḥ santo, mucyante sarva-kilbiṣaiḥ, bhuñjate te tv aghaṁ pāpā, ye pacanty ātma-kāraṇāt - “The devotees of the Lord are released from all kinds of sins because they eat food which is offered first for sacrifice. Others, who prepare food for personal sense enjoyment, verily eat only sin”.
At Food for Life (FFL), we follow the prescribed process for creating and distributing the sanctified food to those who are in need. So by contributing to the Food for Life program, you are not only feeding the hungry but also would be receiving the ultimate benefit of supporting Annadan and the yuga dharma-sankirtan yagna.
Our founder, Srila Prabhupada has a vision to ensure that no one goes hungry in the 10 km radius of an ISKCON temple. Thus the food for life program was initiated in 1972. Since then through FFL ISKCON has done anandana to millions of people worldwide.
By donating to FFL (Food for Life), you become part of something truly meaningful – helping nourish lives, uphold a sacred tradition, and receive the immense spiritual blessings of the best form of charity.
Daily & Monthly Meal Distribution
We currently distribute piping hot, nutritious prasadam everyday around our FFL (Food for Life) kitchens between 5 PM and 6 PM. In addition, our volunteers help in distributing nutritional food to underserved communities, schools, and to citizens with special needs. Our food warriors (volunteers) support us with the logistics and distribution of prasadam and express deep satisfaction in this selfless service.
On average, we distribute about 10,000 meals every month, creating a meaningful impact on the people in need.
Near-Term Expansion Plan
Our infrastructure currently can deliver 10,000 meals a day. For this, we require additional funding and resources to realize the full capacity.

We keep receiving numerous queries from people in Bengaluru on getting wholesome sattvic food for corporate events/weddings/community gatherings/ parties, we took a conscious call to support them in providing healthy and tasty vegetarian food that serves their needs.
